Restylane, Restylane-L®, Perlane®, and Perlane-L® are all members of the Restylane family of products. Each is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own naturally produced hyaluronic acid, helping to instantly, visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds or add fullness to your lips (Restylane and Restylane-L only) in patients over 21.

HOW DOES RESTYLANE WORK?

Restylane works by injecting a gel-like substance into the skin that fills in wrinkles and adds volume to areas that have lost elasticity and fullness.

Restylane can be used on various areas of the face, including the cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, and under-eye hollows.

Individuals are advised to avoid strenuous physical activity and sun exposure for 24 hours after the treatment. Alcohol consumption and the use of blood-thinning medication should also be avoided.

The risks and side effects of Restylane include redness, swelling, bruising, itching, and infection at the injection site. In rare cases, lumps, bumps, and other irregularities may occur.
